It’s New Years Resolution Time – I did a horrible job of keeping to my resolution last year (say Yes!) and not great the year before (keep writing! I actually have a post on it). This, I’ve decided, is my year of growing up. I turn 30 — probably time to make sure everything is a bit more in order. No more living in a pigsty that’s reminiscent of the college year I spent with my four best friends in a falling-apart, over-priced rental house. No more failing to work about because “I’ll do it after work” and then being too tired and lazy. And no more sitting on the couch watching two hours of tv a night instead of accomplishing something that makes me feel good about myself.
Of course, we’ll see how long those last.
As poorly as I did with my resolutions last year, it was still a pretty good year overall. I read 20 books (I thought I’d only read about ten, until I went to update this post — much better than I thought, and I probably missed one here or there), advanced significantly in my job, and had some great opportunities to travel. So, before diving into my much improved, much older, much more grown-up 2016, please indulge me in taking a brief moment to appreciate everything that happened in 2015.
